Each year, the SMU Accounting Society organizes several exciting events for all Accountancy students to get together and enjoy the various celebrations, as well as to promote interaction between the alumni, faculty, and the students. These events promise to have fun-filled games and great prizes, so keep a look-out for them and come on down to join in the fun!

January
When it comes to Chinese New Year, celebrations are not complete without the requisite hongbaos and reunion dinner! At SMU School of Accountancy, you will have the wonderful opportunity to celebrate this joyous time with your friends in school. Come together as one Asoc family, and enjoy a scrumptious buffet spread, live performances, thrilling lion dance display, exciting stage games, and stand to take home fantastic prizes at the same time!

April
The Gala Dinner is the School of Accountancy’s annual end-of-year event organized for the graduating batch of accountancy students, to celebrate the start of a brand new chapter in their lives and to reminisce on the wonderful times spent in SMU.
Beginning from 2009, this event was meant to target only the graduating students and the faculty. Catering to the different and exciting new theme every year, this event was held before namely at Oosh at Dempsey, Little Bali, etc. In addition with live performances, good food and wine, it definitely heighten the event’s atmosphere. Wacky awards were also to given out to the graduating batch such as Most Likely to be a Millionaire, Most Eligible Bachelor and Bachelorette, determined prior to the event through voting by the graduating batch themselves!
All in all, it was a night to remember for the graduating batch, with sweet memories of their SMU life presented to them through videos and photographs. Thus, graduating batch of 2011, do keep a lookout for this meaningful event!
July
For most of us, the first venture into life in SMU School of Accountancy will be none other than the Asoc Camp! Freshmen (otherwise known as freshies) will be given the chance to forge strong bonds and friendships with one another, get to know more seniors in school, and more importantly, the brilliant memories will mark the start of hell life, oops I mean uni life.
Highlights of the camp include the games such as Randomania and a Finale Performance by the camp facilitators at Sentosa. For Randomania, the freshmen will have to travel all over school and complete various fun and quirky tasks designed for them. While in return, their facilitators will put up a hilarious and unforgettable fashion show and dance performances (quality garaunteed! J). Thus with new bonds to be forged and terrific times to be had, this is definitely a camp not to be missed for all accountancy freshmen!
September
One of the most significant events on the calendar, Asoc Day is the only event where accountancy students from every batch come together with their faculty and alumni, to celebrate the Asoc identity and to celebrate our past achievements. Held in the first semester of each academic year, ASoc Day serves as a tremendous opportunity to forge new bonds and solidify existing friendships, and also a time to chill and have fun in the midst of our rigorous school lives.
With a new school term starting soon, keep a look out in this space for more details regarding the upcoming Asoc Day this year! Join us in this night of celebration and fun!
December
Shag after one term? Need a mini getaway from Singapore? Loves shopping and seafood? If you shouted yes, this event is specially designed for you!
This new initiative brought forward by the 7th MC is meant to reward students like you who have been so hardworking over the term and deserves a break! During this trip, we will bring you guys to popular shopping malls across the causeway to get cheap bargains, bring you guys to their kelongs for fresh and quality seafood, and last but not least, ensure freshen up your minds for the start of another term.
